Biochem/physiol Actions: | CMKLR1 is a G-protein coupled receptor that is activated by chemerine, a leukocyte attractant and adipokine. CMKLR1 is expressed in embryonic and adult skeletal muscle, though its role in adults is not clear. It regulates the processes of cell migration and differentiation of myoblasts into myotubes. The role of this receptor is important in adipose tissue development, inflammation, and glucose homeostasis. |
