| Biochem/physiol Actions: | KLF11 belongs to KLF family of transcription factors that regulate GC promoters and important metabolic processes in diverse organisms. The histone acetyltransferase pathways mediated by KLF11 affect the regulation of insulin in neonatal diabetes. KLF11 mediates increase in basal insulin levels and glucose-stimulated insulin secretion. It suppresses inflammatory activation of endothelial cells by inhibition of NF-κB pathway that results in downregulation of VCAM-1 and E-selectin promoters. |
