Application: Anti-PRDM12 polyclonal antibody is used to tag PR domain containing 12 protein for detection and quantitation by Western blotting and in plasma by immunohistochemical (IHC) techniques. It is used as a probe to determine the roles of PR domain containing 12 protein in cell differentiation and tumorigenesis such as chronic myeloid leukemia.
Biochem/physiol Actions: Anti-PRDM12 polyclonal antibody reacts with zebrafish, human, mouse, rat, and bovine PR domain containing 12 proteins.
Biochem/physiol Actions: PRDM12 belongs to PR-domain family which are involved in human cancers in an unusual yin-yang fashion. Two products are normally produced from a PR-domain family member which differ by the presence or absence of the PR domain; the PR-plus product is disrupted or underexpressed whereas the PR-minus product is present or overexpressed in cancer cells. This imbalance in the amount of the two products, a result of either genetic or epigenetic events, appears to be an important cause of malignancy. PRDM12 may have a potential role in the pathogenesis of chronic myeloid leukaemia with derivative chromosome 9 deletion.

General description: PR domain proteins (PRDM) are a small family of kruppel-like zinc finger transcription factors involved in cell differentiation and tumorigenesis. PR domain containing 12 (PRDM12) is a putative tumor suppressor that may be implicated in poor outcome chronic myeloid leukemia (CML).
Immunogen: Synthetic peptide directed towards the C terminal region of human PRDM12
Other Notes: Synthetic peptide located within the following region: NHVRLHTGERPYKCQVCQSAYSQLAGLRAHQKSARHRPPSTALQAHSPAL
Physical form: Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.
