Biochem/physiol Actions: TEAD1 is a transcriptional enhancer. It interacts with a muscle-specific cofactor to promote skeletal muscle gene expression. The mutation in the TEAD1 gene is the cause of Sveinsson′s chorioretinal atrophy

General description: TEAD1 is a transcriptional factor that blocks the expression of prolactin in human uterine decidual cells. TEAD1 mutation has been linked to Sveinsson′s chorioretinal atrophy.
