Application: | Anti-FOXQ1 (AB2) polyclonal antibody is used to tag forkhead box Q1 protein for detection and quantitation by Western blotting and in cells and tissues by immunohistochemical (IHC) techniques. It is used as a probe to study the possible roles of forkhead box Q1 in epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) both in normal and cancer cells where EMT promotes invasion and metastasis. |
Application: | Applications in which this antibody has been used successfully, and the associated peer-reviewed papers, are given below. Western Blotting (1 paper) |
Biochem/physiol Actions: | FOXQ1 contains 1 fork-head DNA-binding domain. FOXQ1 mediates the interaction of Akt/protein kinase B with TGFb2. Foxq1 regulates differentiation of hair in satin mice. |

General description: | Forkhead proteins are transcription factors that contain a DNA binding motif, winged helix, called a forkhead box. These proteins regulate genes involved in major cell processes such as embryonic development, cell proliferation and differentiation. Forkhead box Q1 (FOXQ1) is involved in the regulation of epithelial differentiation by promoting the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), a normal process that also supports cancer invasion and metastasis. |
Immunogen: | Synthetic peptide directed towards the N terminal region of human FOXQ1 |
Physical form: | Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose. |
Sequence: | Synthetic peptide located within the following region: PSPLSAAGDDSLGSDGDCAANSPAA |
Specificity: | Anti-FOXQ1 (AB2) polyclonal antibody reacts with human forkhead box Q1 proteins. |
