Biochem/physiol Actions: | SLC2A10 (GLUT10) is a facilitative glucose transporter that regulates glucose homeostasis. The activity of GLUT10 is essential for developmental regulation by TGF-β, cardiovascular development, mitochondrial respiration and metabolism. Polymorphisms in the gene encoding this protein have been observed in Caucasian Americans with type 2 diabetes and in patients with arterial tortuosity syndrome. |
