Biochem/physiol Actions: | C1QB is the B-chain polypeptide of the C1Q component of the human serum complement system. C1Q initiates complement activation and additionally modulates cytokine production, dendritic cell maturation and T-cell and B-cell responses. Mutation in gene encoding for C1QB is associated with systemic lupus erythematosus while polymorphisms in the gene have been observed in schizophrenia. |
