| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Nuclear receptor subfamily 0, group B, member 1 (NR0B1; DAX-1) is a DNA-binding protein that negatively regulates retinoic acid receptor-mediated transcription. It is an antagonist to the protein Sry and functions as an anti-testis protein. Mutations in gene encoding NR0B1 result in primary adrenal insufficiency or congenital adrenal hypoplasia in early childhood and hypogonadotropic hypogonadism. |
