| Biochem/physiol Actions: | NOLC1 encodes for a phosphoprotein, nucleolar and coiled-body phosphoprotein 1 that plays a crucial role in the synthesis of rRNA and the biosynthesis of ribosomes. It also induces tumorigenesis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and works cooperatively with tumor protein 53 for stimulating the MDM2 promoter in NPC cells. |
