Biochem/physiol Actions: Molecule Interacting with CasL (MICAL)-like1 (MICALL1) is an endocytic regulatory protein that interacts with GTP-binding proteins such as Rab35. This interaction enhances the localization of MICALL1 to tubular recycling endosomes. MICALL1 also interacts with Rab13 and mediates the endocytosis of epidermal growth factor and regulates assembly of tight junction in the epithelial cells.
