| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Hspa4l is expressed ubiquitously and predominantly in the testis and is highly expressed in spermatogenic cells. It plays an important role in osmotolerance. HSPA4L and HSPA4 collaborate in embryonic lung maturation and helps in air breathing during child birth. Osp94 also acts as molecular chaperone and possesses cytoprotective role from excessive stimulation from heat, hyper-ionic and osmotic stress which cause marked perturbation of intracellular protein function including the suppression of protein synthesis. |
