Application: Monoclonal Anti-Caspase 11 antibody can be used in immunohistochemistry and immunoprecipitation. It is also useful in immunoblotting
Biochem/physiol Actions: Caspases are normally produced in the cell as inactive procaspases. Caspase 11 can induce apoptosis in cultured cells due to overexpression. Monoclonal antibodies reacting specifically with caspase 11 are useful tool for the study of the protease network, involved in development and regulation, governing the life and death of cells and tissues.

General description: Caspases are proteases having similar structure, substrate specificity and can be divided into three subfamilies based upon their amino acid sequence homology.Monoclonal Anti-Caspase 11 (rat IgG2a isotype) is derived from the 17D9 hybridoma produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from rat immunized with a recombinant p30 subunit of mouse caspase 11. Caspase 11 (also known as Ich-3) gene encodes two protein products of 38 and 43 kDa that belong to the Ced3/ICE family of cystein proteases. Caspase 11 is an “upstream” caspase with a long prodomain. Caspase 11 is identified in murine and shares homology with the human caspase 4 and 5.
Immunogen: recombinant p30 subunit of mouse caspase 11.
Physical form: Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 1% BSA and 15 mM sodium azide.
