| Application: | N-(2-Chloro-4-pyridyl)-N′-phenylurea has been used as a supplement in Murashige and Tucker medium (MT) to culture thin cell layer (TCL) explants. It has also been used to spray on to the ovaries at anthesis for induction of parthenocarpic fruit. |
| Application: | Forchlorfenuron (CPPU) is a cytokinin that enhances in vitro direct shoot organogenesis of Citrus aurantium L. epicotyl segments. |
| Biochem/physiol Actions: | N-(2-Chloro-4-pyridyl)-N′-phenylurea/ CPPU, a cytokinin-like plant growth regulator participates in chlorophyll biosynthesis, cell division and cell expansion. It helps to intensify fruit set and quickens fruit enlargement. CPPU modulates carbohydrate allocation. |
| Biochem/physiol Actions: | CPPU is a cytokinin oxidase/dehydrogenase (CKO) inhibitor. |
