| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Chloramphenicol is a natural product found in Streptomyces venezuelae. It shows a broad range of antibiotic activity against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria by binding to the peptidyl transferase loop of the ribosomal RNA to block the peptide bond formation. |
