| Application: | Carbamyl-β-methylcholine chloride has been used in western blotting and bactericidal assay. It has also been used in concentration-response studies with isolated atrial preparation. |
| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Carbamyl-β-methylcholine has a selective action on urinary bladder and intestine. It induces smooth muscle tension in the bladder. Its main function is to induce detrusor muscle action, mediated by postganglionic parasympathetic effector cells. Nausea, flushing, sweating, abdominal cramps are some of the side effect caused by carbamyl-β-methylcholine. |
