| General description: | Corticotropin Releasing Factor (CRF), a 41 amino acid neuropeptide, belongs to a family of structurally related peptides including urocortin, sauvagine and urotensin I. CRF is derived from a larger 196 amino acids precursor protein (preproCRF). CRF is widely distributed in the brain and peripheral nervous system, with the highest levels in the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus (PVN). |
| Immunogen: | synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal of human CRF (amino acids 25-41 with N-terminally added lysine) conjugated to KLH. |
| Physical form: | Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide. |
| Preparation Note: | For continuous use, store at 2-8°C for up to one month. For extended storage freeze in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Storage in "frost-free" freezers is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. |
