Biochem/physiol Actions: Enzymes such as HRP convert 4-Chloro-1-naphthol to a purple-colored precipitate on the blot that is readily visible to the eye.
General description: 4-Chloro-1-naphthol is a substrate for HRP in a reaction that results in a colored precipitate. It is commonly used for colorimetric detection and visualization of proteins in western blotting.
