Application: Cellulase from Sigma has been used to degrade cello-oligosaccharides into glucose; to study the biodegradability of bioabsorbable bacterial cellulose (BBC) material.
Application: Cellulase from Trichoderma reesei has been used in a study to assess the differential regulation of the cellulase transcription factors XYR1, ACE2, and ACE. Cellulase from Trichoderma reesei has also been used in a study to investigate the liquefaction of hydrothermally pretreated wheat straw at high-solids content.
Biochem/physiol Actions: Cellulases are enzymes that hydrolyze cellulose to glucose. Cellulase is used to study the development of occupational asthma in the detergent, pharmaceutical, baking, and enzyme production industries. Cellulase is added to detergents to improve cleansing properties. It is also applied in the biodegradation of paper products such as foolscap paper, filter paper, newspaper and office paper as well as microcrystalline cellulose.
General description: We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Greener Chemistry. This product has been enhanced for energy efficiency and waste prevention when used in cellulosic ethanol research. For more information see the article in biofiles  and Enzymes for Alternative Energy Research .
Other Notes: One unit will liberate 1.0 μmole of glucose from cellulose in one hr at pH 5.0 at 37 °C (2 hr incubation time).

New Tariffs & Effects on Pricing

Tariff note: As we navigate the current environment of tariff surcharges and mid-year manufacturer price increases, we want to keep you informed. While we have avoided making specific decisions thus far, we anticipate that we will be forced to implement a cost adjustment policy to offset the fees we have already been absorbing. We are committed to transparency and moderation in this process.
