| Biochem/physiol Actions: | CNPase (2′,3′-cyclic nucleotide 3′-phosphodiesterase) is associated with brain tubulin and acts as a microtubule-associated protein in promoting microtubule assembly and distribution. It is expressed primarily in committed oligodendroglial progenitors and terminally-differentiated oligodendrocytes and may be used as a marker of cell differentiation in the CNS. |
