Application: Digoxin-BSA bovine is a cardioactive glycoside which can increase intracellular calcium concentration through Na+/K+-ATPase pump inhibition. Digoxin has been used in treatments of heart related disease and also studies of cancer treatments. It has shown the ability to inhibit prostate cancer cell growth, but has also shown a reduction in the efficiency of chemotherapy (reduced drug absorption) by increasing the amount of P-glycoprotein (Pgp).
