General description: Etomidate is an imidazole derivative, which functions as an nonbarbiturate hypnotic agent. It is used in speech and memory test. Etomidate regulates hemodynamic stability by preserving sympathetic outflow and autonomic reflexes. It inhibits adrenal steroidogenesis.
