Biochem/physiol Actions: Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase 67 (GAD67) is involved in the production of γ-amino butyric acid (GABA), a inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system (CNS). Deficiency of GAD67 leads to psychosis, schizophrenia and bipolar diseases.
Biochem/physiol Actions: Reacts specifically with GAD67. Does not crossreact with GAD65.

General description: Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase 67 (GAD67) is encoded by the gene glutamic acid decarboxylase 1 (GAD1). GAD1 gene is located on the human chromosome at 2q31.1. GAD67 is localized in the dendrites and cell bodies.
Immunogen: synthetic peptide from mouse GAD67 (amino acids 87-106).
Immunogen: This peptide does not share homology with GAD65.
