| Biochem/physiol Actions: | IgG antibody subtype is the most abundant serum immunoglobulin of the immune system. It is secreted by B cells and is found in blood and extracellular fluids and provides protection from infections caused by bacteria, fungi and viruses. Maternal IgG is transferred to fetus through the placenta that is vital for immune defense of the neonate against infections. |

| General description: | IgG is a glycoprotein. It is a major class of immunoglobulin. IgG consists of four polypeptide chains, made of two identical 50 kDa γ heavy (H) chains and two identical 25 kDa κ or λ light (L) chains, which is linked together by inter-chain disulfide bonds. IgG contains four isotypes IgG1, IgG2, IgG3 and IgG4. |
| Immunogen: | Anti-Goat IgG is produced in rabbit using as immunogen purified goat IgG. |
| Physical form: | Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide as preservative |
| Preparation Note: | For continuous use, store at 2-8 °C for up to one month. For extended storage, the solution may be frozen in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing, or storage in "frost-free" freezers, is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation before use. |
