Application: Anti-Haptoglobin antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunohistochemistry and western blotting.
Biochem/physiol Actions: Haptoglobin is an antioxidant protein that binds with hemoglobin. Haptoglobin primarily functions to inhibit oxidative damage induced by hemoglobin. Alterations in haptoglobin have been associated with the risk of diabetic vascular disorders such as retinopathy, nephropathy and cardiovascular diseases . Anti-Haptoglobin antibody is specific for haptoglobin in humans.
