| Biochem/physiol Actions: | TNRC6B (trinucleotide repeat containing 6B) gene encodes an RNA recognition motif (RRM)-containing protein that belongs to the GW182 family of proteins. It associates with argonaute (Ago) proteins involved in RNA silencing processes that are guided by both micro-RNAs (miRNAs) and short interfering RNAs (siRNAs). This association also represses translation and promotes degradation of mRNA. |
