Enhanced Validation-Orthogonal RNAseq Confirmation Immunohistochemistry analysis in human skin and pancreas tissues using HPA003259 antibody. Corresponding MITF RNA-seq data are presented for the same tissues.
ChIP-Exo-Seq composite graph for Anti-MITF (HPA003259, Lot 000014341) tested in K562 cells. Strand-specific reads (blue: forward, red: reverse) and IgG controls (black: forward, grey: reverse) are plotted against the distance from a composite set of reference binding sites. The antibody exhibits robust target enrichment compared to a non-specific IgG control and precisely reveals its structural organization around the binding site. Data generated by Prof. B. F. Pugh´s Lab at Cornell University. *Please note not all antibody batches are validated for use in ChIP applications.
Enhanced Validation-Orthogonal RNAseq Confirmation Western blot analysis in human cell lines SK-MEL-30 and MCF-7 using Anti-MITF antibody. Corresponding MITF RNA-seq data are presented for the same cell lines. Loading control: Anti-PFN1.
Immunohistochemistry Immunohistochemical staining of human skin shows moderate to strong nuclear positivity in melanocytes.
Immunohistochemistry Immunohistochemical staining of human endometrium shows moderate nuclear positivity in cells in endometrial stroma.
Immunohistochemistry Immunohistochemical staining of human liver shows no positivity in hepatocytes as expected.
Immunohistochemistry Immunohistochemical staining of human pancreas shows no positivity in exocrine glandular cells as expected.

Application: Anti-MITF antibody has been used in immunohistochemistry and chromatin immunoprecipitation.
Application: Rabbit polyclonal anti-MITF antibody is used to tag microphthalmia-associated transcription factor for detection and quantitation by immunocytochemical and immunohistochemical (IHC) techniques. It is used as a probe to determine the presence and roles of microphthalmia-associated transcription factor in melanocyte proliferation, development, and survival and the regulation of regulator of osteoclastogenesis.
Biochem/physiol Actions: MITF (microphthalmia-associated transcription factor) participates in the growth and differentiation of melanocytes. Mutations in MITF results in waardenburg syndrome type IIa.
Disclaimer: Unless otherwise stated in our catalog or other company documentation accompanying the product(s), our products are intended for research use only and are not to be used for any other purpose, which includes but is not limited to, unauthorized commercial uses, in vitro diagnostic uses, ex vivo or in vivo therapeutic uses or any type of consumption or application to humans or animals.
Features and Benefits: Prestige Antibodies® are highly characterized and extensively validated antibodies with the added benefit of all available characterization data for each target being accessible via the Human Protein Atlas portal linked just below the product name at the top of this page. The uniqueness and low cross-reactivity of the Prestige Antibodies® to other proteins are due to a thorough selection of antigen regions, affinity purification, and stringent selection. Prestige antigen controls are available for every corresponding Prestige Antibody and can be found in the linkage section.

Every Prestige Antibody is tested in the following ways:
• IHC tissue array of 44 normal human tissues and 20 of the most common cancer type tissues.
• Protein array of 364 human recombinant protein fragments.
General description: Microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF) is a bHLH-ZIP transcription factor that recognizes E-box (CAYRTG) and M-box (TCAYRTG or CAYRTGA) sequences in the promoter regions of target genes. Microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF) is a master regulator in melanocyte proliferation, development, survival and melanoma formation and an essential regulator of osteoclastogenesis.
General description: MITF (microphthalmia-associated transcription factor) is a basic helix-loop-helix, leucine-zipper transcription factor. It is located on human chromosome 3p13.
General description: Rabbit polyclonal anti-MITF antibody recognizes human microphthalmia-associated transcription factor.
Immunogen: Microphthalmia-associated transcription factor recombinant protein epitope signature tag (PrEST)
