| Biochem/physiol Actions: | UBE2L6 (ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2L 6) gene encodes a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family that catalyzes ISG15 (Ubiquitin-like protein conjugated to cellular proteins after IFN-α/β stimulation) conjugation or the attachment of ubiquitin to other proteins. Ubiquitination of proteins is an important mechanism during the degradation of abnormal or short-lived proteins. It ubiquitinates and degrades FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 mutant and modulates leukemic cell survival. |
