| General description: | Synovial apoptosis inhibitor 1/ synoviolin (SYVN1) is a part of ER-associated degradation (ERAD) and is an E3 ubiquitin ligase. It localizes to endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and is ubiquitously expressed. It is highly expressed in skeletal muscle, pancreas and liver. SYVN1 contains six domains, which span the plasma membrane. It is a non-glycosylated protein and has a cytoplasmic RING-H2 finger domain. This gene is located on chromosome 11q13. |
