| Biochem/physiol Actions: | PLXNA1 (plexin A1) gene encodes a plexin that serves as a receptor for semaphorins. Together, plexins and semaphorins regulate signal transduction to control cell shape, cell motility and cell-cell interactions. They also function in the regulation of axon guidance. The plexins are found in the immune system and may play a role in immune cell interaction and the treatment of autoimmune disorders. |
