Alternative splicing produces two isoforms of this enzyme, which are different at their 3′UTR (untranslated region) sequences. Both these isoforms are widely expressed. It is one of the most widely present selenoproteins in eukaryotes. This protein is localized to the ER (endoplasmic reticulum). |
