It can directly adhere to the steroid sulfates such as oestrone-3-sulfate and dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate in presence of sodium to transport it to the specific tissues. |

| General description: | SLC10A6 (Solute carrier family 10 member 6) is a sodium-dependent organic anion transporter belonging to the solute carrier family. It is highly expressed in testis, placenta, and pancreas. SLC10A6 possesses structural homology (~70%) with the apical sodium-dependent bile acid transporter (ASBT). It consists of a seven-transmembrane domain with an outside-to-inside arrangement of the N-terminal and C-terminal ends. |
