| Biochem/physiol Actions: | TARDBP (TAR DNA binding protein) functions as a transcriptional gene and is involved in various processes such as RNA splicing of the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator gene. It has been reported that TARDBP may play an important role in neurodegeneration. Abnormal aggregation of TARDBP causes an adult-onset neurological disorder, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), that leads to the degeneration of motor neurons. |
