| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Solute carrier family 30 member 7 (SLC30A7) is a zinc transporter which transports zinc from the cytoplasm to the Golgi apparatus. It may be involved in the activation of the phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) pathway. Knockdown of SLC30A7 in rat peritoneal mesothelial cells (RPMCs) show an increase in apoptosis. This transporter activates an alkaline phosphatase and is needed for the proper functioning of leukocytes. |
