| Biochem/physiol Actions: | SLC4A2 (solute carrier family 4 member 2) is a Cl- (chloride)/HCO3- (bicarbonate) exchanger. SLC4A2 knockout mice shows decreased gastric HCl (hydrogen chloride) secretion and proximal colon Cl- secretion. SLC4A2 is down-regulated in epithelium of patients with primary biliary cirrhosis. |
