| Biochem/physiol Actions: | DNAJC24 (DnaJ heat shock protein family (Hsp40) member C24) mainly functions as an assembly chaperone in protein synthesis. It provides support to HSP70 proteins as a co-chaperone for proper protein folding. It has been also reported that DNAJC24 may play an indirect role in the diphthamide biosynthesis. Deletion of its chromosomal location has been reported in the familial aniridia and in other eye anomalies. |
