| General description: | SVEP1 (Sushi, von Willebrand factor type A, EGF and pentraxin domain-containing protein 1) also called as polydom or SEL-OB (selectin-like osteoblast-derived protein) is expressed primarily in osteogenic cells. The gene coding for protein is localized to human chromosome 9q32. SVEP1 protein consists of multiple domains such as vWA (von Willebrand factor type A), EGF (epidermal growth factor), PTX (pentraxin), and HYR (hyalin repeat) domains, and complement control protein (CCP) modules which are also called sushi domains. |
