| Biochem/physiol Actions: | The SLIT2 (slit guidance ligand 2)/ROBO (roundabout) complex is crucial for the axon guidance and neural crest cell migration. The complex also enhances intestinal tumorigenesis. On the other hand, inactivation of SLIT2 is associated with the presence of dysplastic lesions of head and neck. Mutations in SLIT2 are linked with high risk of congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract (CAKUT). |
