| Biochem/physiol Actions: | BAIAP2 (BAI1 associated protein 2) interaction with CDC42 (cell division cycle 42) is needed for filopodia formation. It is also involved in neuronal growth cone guidance. Mutations in BAIAP2 are associated with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder and autism. BAIAP2 also participates in emotional modulation of memory strength. It also regulates cell motility and mediates the coupling of actin- associated remodeling with Rho guanosine triphosphatase (GTPase) and kinase signaling pathways. |
