| Biochem/physiol Actions: | The members of TRIM (tripartite motif-containing protein) family of proteins participate in several biological processes. Alteration in their expression is associated with genetic diseases, viral infection, and cancer development. TRIM68 (tripartite motif containing 68) interacts with androgen receptor (AR) and serves as its co-activator. It possesses ubiquitin ligase activity and may function in AR-dependent transcription. It has been found to be associated with Sjögren′s syndrome and serves as a diagnostic marker. Trim68 is highly expressed in prostate and may be involved in carcinogenesis. |
