Biochem/physiol Actions: KLF17 (Kruppel like factor 17) interacts with the G/C and CACCC boxes of specific genes and is involved in transcription. KLF17 inhibits cancer cell metastasis, by suppressing the transcription of ID1 (inhibitor of DNA binding 1). It is downregulated in breast cancer, lung adenocarcinoma and hepatocellular carcinoma.
