| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Ras-related protein RAB39A plays a major role in regulation of endocytosis, acidification of maturing phagosomes, autophagosome formation and secretion of pro-inflammatory compounds. The encoded protein protein plays a pleiotropic role in phagosome maturation, inflammatory activation and neuritogenesis. In addition, Rab39a also facilitates membrane trafficking of phagocytosis and autophagy induction in macrophages. Rab39a might also act as a potential therapeutic target for sepsis syndrome. |
