| General description: | Dual specificity phosphatase 1 (DUSP1) gene encodes for a protein phosphatase enzyme with dual specificity. It is majorly expressed in epithelial tumors, such as prostate, colon, and bladder. DUSP1 protein consists of two domains comprising an amino-terminal noncatalytic domain and a C-terminal catalytic domain, which has an adenosine triphosphatase (ATPase) active site consensus sequence. It belongs to the family of dual-specificity phosphatases. The DUSP1 gene is mapped to human chromosome 5q35.1. |
