| General description: | Interferon-γ (IFN-γ) belongs to Type II class of interferons and is produced by T helper cells (specifically, Th1 cells), natural killer (NK) and natural killer T (NKT) cells and cytotoxic T cells (TC cells) . It has various biological functions including antiviral activity like inhibition of cell or tumor growth, act as a potent modulator of immune responses and modifies cellular processes as well as stimulates the differentiation of B cells into immunoglobulin-producing cells. Monoclonal Anti-Interferon-γ antibody can be used in immunoblotting. Rat anti-Interferon-γ antibody has shown no cross-reactivity for recombinant human IFN-γ or recombinant rat IFN-γ. |
