General description: The secretory component is a single chain glycoprotein that may occur freely or as component of the secretory immunoglobulin A (SIgA). IgA regulates the physiological balance between commensal intestinal bacteria and the defenses of the host immune system. It is the highest generated antibody isotype. IgAs are mainly secreted in the intestinal mucosa and prevent the commensal microorganisms from invading the intestines
Monoclonal Anti-Secretory Component (IgA) antibody is specific for secretory human IgA and the free secretory component. The antibody does not bind to human IgG, IgM and IgE.
Immunogen: Secretory component purified from human colostrum
