General description: Isopimaric acid, a resin acid produced by conifer trees, is a tricyclic diterpene compound. High levels of isopimaric acid in the hepatocytes of the rainbow trout may impair calcium signalling machinery. Isopimaric acid is a potential big potassium (BK) channel opener.
