Immunohistochemistry Anti-Kv11.3 (erg3) : Cat. No. K0890: Immunohistochemical staining of Rat cerebellum using Anti-Kv11.3 (erg3) antibody. A. Kv11.3 channel appears in glial processes (red). B. Staining of astrocytic fibers with Mouse Anti-Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP, green). C. Confocal merge of Kv11.3 channel and GFAP demonstrates colocalization in the molecular layer but separate localization of these proteins at the Purkinje cell layer.
Immunoblotting Anti-KV11.3 (erg3): Cat. No. K0890: Western blot analysis of Rat brain lysate. Lanes 1. Anti- KV11.3 (erg3) antibody, (1:300). 2. Anti- KV11.3 (erg3) antibody, preincubated with the control peptide antigen.

Biochem/physiol Actions: The gene Kcnh7 (potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily H member 7) encodes a voltage gated K+ channel that modulates the membrane potential in its rested and activated state. In the nervous system, it may participate in the regulation of neuronal excitability. The erg3 channels have relatively negative activation threshold compared to erg1 and erg2. They are capable of recycling K+ ions to the subretinal space in the dark and contribute to the maintenance of the resting membrane potential.
Biochem/physiol Actions: The KV11.3 antibody is directed against an intracellular epitope of C-terminal part of KV11.3.
General description: The gene Kcnh7 (potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily H member 7), also referred to as erg3, encodes a subunit of ether-à-go-go related (erg) K+ channels. The erg K+ channels are part of the EAG (ether-à-go-go) family of voltage-gated K+ channels. The encoded protein is found to be expressed in the apical membrane of the retinal pigment epithelium.
Immunogen: synthetic peptide CPEFLDLEKSKLKSKE corresponding to amino acids 1108-1123 of rat KV11.3.
Physical form: Lyophilized powder containing phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 1% BSA and 0.025% sodium azide.
Preparation Note: Reconstitute the lyophilized vial with 50 μL or 200 μL deionized water, depending on package size. Further dilutions should be made using a carrier protein such as BSA (1-3%).
Storage Temp. −20°C
