Application: Lactic acid is an α hydroxyl carboxylic acid produced from pyruvate by the enzyme lactate dehydrogenase (LDH). This mixed isomer lactate has been qualified for use in mouse embryo culture. Lactate regulates pyruvate uptake and metabolism in the preimplantation mouse embryo.
