Application: MDL-12,330A hydrochloride has been used as an inhibitor of adenylyl cyclase to block cyclic AMP signaling in mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (MSC). It has also been used as an adenylyl cyclase blocker to test its effect on the locomotor activity based on tail suspension test (TST) in mice.

Biochem/physiol Actions: MDL-12,330A is a cycloalkyl lactamimide that acts as a voltage-gated potassium channel blocker (KV) leading to extension of action potential duration (APD) and favoring insulin secretion. It also blocks calcium (Ca2+) entry.
