This formulation has also been used to support the growth of primary cultures of bone marrow, skin, gingiva, kidney, omentum, adrenals, lung, spleen, rat embryos, and other cell types. |
| General description: | The amino acid requirements for in vitro cultivation of Novikoff hepatoma cells were reported by McCoy and colleagues. These experiments were carried out using Basal Medium 5A, which was later modified to create McCoy′s 5A medium. |
