| Application: | Nutrient Mixture F-12 Ham has been used:• to culture Chinese hamster ovary cells overexpressing insulin receptor (CHO-IR) • to culture LAN-1 cells • to maintain SUM149, SUM159, SUM190, FC-IBC02, BCX010, and IBC3 cells • with Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium (DMEM) media in a 1:1 ratio to culture oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) cell lines. |
| General description: | Ham′s Nutrient Mixtures were mainly created to support the clonal growth of numerous clones of Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells and clones of HeLa and mouse L-cells. It is also used to grow primary rat hepatocytes and rat prostate epithelial cells. Ham′s F-12 is used as the medium of choice for a clonal toxicity assay using CHO cells. |
